Children's Ministry

We offer a dynamic, Gospel-centered children's and family ministry that walks alongside parents to disciple and mentor children to be followers of Jesus Christ, and draws the church family into a deeper relationship with God and each other.
0-1 Nursery
Nursery care is available through the entire worship service on Sundays! Just walk to the red Barn, and sign your children in!
2-3 Years Old Toddlers
Toddlers can also head straight to the Barn on Sundays for a Bible story, songs, and play-based learning and care.
4-5 Years Preschool/Kindergarten
The same goes for preschoolers,
JumpStart (1st through 5th grades)
JumpStart is our Sunday morning program for our 1st-5th graders, where they learn more about Jesus and what it looks like to be his disciples.
All 1st-5th graders join their parents for the worship service, and right before the sermon begins, they are invited to head to the Barn forJumpStart. Around the time the sermon ends, the kids in JumpStart are brought back to the sanctuary to join their parents in the worship service.
Barnstormers
BarnStormers is our Sunday evening kids’ program that runs 5:00-6:30 pm concurrently with our Discipleship Groups and Alpha. Join us for dinner, a lesson, and fun activities!
Trail Life USA
We are excited to announce that starting in January, Jville Church will be launching Trail Life USA, which is a Christ-centered, boy-focused mentoring program that disciples boys in service & outdoor adventures. More details to come soon!
Shining Stars
Each month, the girls in the children's ministry (1st-5th grade) are invited to gather together for service and outdoors-based opportunities to learn about following Jesus and loving our community. Shining Stars is being re-booted this January, and Kristian Bull can't wait to connect with the girls in this way!
Calvin the Forgetful Sheep!
Calvin the Forgetful Sheep is our fun and friendly mascot that helps kids get excited about their Bible learning and their experience at church.
Calvin also reminds our kids that "all we like sheep have gone astray" (Isaiah 53:6), but Jesus our "good shepherd" who "laid down his life for the sheep" (John 10:11, ESV). And as Jesus himself taught us, as our good shepherd, he will always leave the ninety-nine to find his lost and forgetful sheep (Luke 15:6)!
Questions
When you arrive at church, please come to The Barn and sign your child in at the Welcome Station. Each child and parent/guardian will receive a tag with matching numbers. Babies and children ages 0-5 can then go to the nursery or preschool, while elementary age children join the church family for the first half of the worship pervice.
Right before the sermon, we will invte the kids (1st-5th grade) to follow a Children’s Ministry leader as they head to The Barn for JumpStart, our children’s program for older kids. The JumpStart kids will then return to the service in time for the closing song. Kids are, of course, also welcome to stay with their parents during the sermon, if parents so choose!
If you have a child with a special need or disability, we would love to provide them with a Buddy. Please contact Grace (grace.m@jvillechurch.org) to sign up in advance for a Buddy!
We would love to have you serve alongside us in Children's Ministry. We need both helpers (teens and adults who love Jesus, kids, and pass a background check), and lead teachers (church members who love Jesus, kids and pass a background check). If you would be willing to serve in either of these rolls, please fill out the volunteer form and a background check.
